Thailand trip...

Our time in Chiang Mai was really nice and we enjoyed spending time with many special people while we were there. I have lots more pictures but decided I better stop here.

beautiful wood sculpturing

Tiger Kingdom...this was interesting...people actually paid to go inside with these tigers and have their picture taken with them. Not me...they would have to pay me and then I don't think I would do it.

This is what the Songteaw taxi looks like...many people can fit in the back.

Mom's advice...

With the fast pace of change in this world today; I am so thankful for the unchanging truth of God's Word.

These can be challenging times to nurture children but my advice is to stay ever so close to the Lord and trust His wisdom and guidance in everything you do. The words in Deuteronomy 6:5-9 are as true today as they were long ago.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and gates."

Botanical Gardens

We enjoyed spending the afternoon at the Singapore Botanical Garden this past weekend.

These orchids were at the entrance and I took several pictures. There also was a room where they started cultures of the orchids (it is behind me in the photo above). The Singapore Chinese Symphony was warming up for a concert to take place that evening. We enjoyed listening to them while we took a short break from our walk around the gardens.

Some of the flowers we saw on our walk. So beautiful!!!

The fish is carved from driftwood and was pretty cool.

"Expo Adventure"

If you like big crowds~~then the place to be is the Expo on a Saturday afternoon. What a riot!!! Screaming loud anouncements coming from every direction, each one advertising the big sales going on.

Do you need a new flat screen tv or a new camera? Just about any electronic gadget you can think of probably could be found and of course at a "great sale" price.???? Every imaginable clothing item available if you want to take the time to sort through bins loaded full of such wonderful deals. We also came across some home necessities if you are in the need of furniture or beds, new flooring or even a new aircon.

We just looked as I knew neither of us had the energy to carry any of it home with us.

So much for our big weekend outing. The Expo adventure......yes, it was just not "quite" as exciting as watching a rodeo in Montana along with an amazing fireworks display or camping out in the wilderness.

Wishing you a HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!

The unexpected...

As we were wandering around looking for a certain building down in the city area we saw the unexpected-- at least unexpected to see in Singapore.

I thought this was kind of interesting with Larry's reflection behind the antlers.

Do you see what is on the far wall?

Needless to say this was certainly not something we expected to see today.
