What's growing in my yard?

I took these pictures of some interesting things we have growing in our yard.... Do you know what they are?

The flower is growing at the base of a palm tree and this is the first time it has bloomed...not sure what it is called but I think it is pretty. Maybe some type of a lily.

The next is a fruit called Apple Custard and I have eaten a couple of them so far and they are delicious. The birds like them too... so as soon as they are ripe they peck holes into them. I keep watching every day to see if they are ready to pick and try to beat the birds to them.

The last fruit, with the flower still hanging on to it is a....Dragn Fruit. This is actually our neighbors plant and it has runners that climb over to our side of the fence. Only one produced fruit this year but I am anxiously waiting for it to ripen.

Away for the weekend...

For our anniversary last weekend we took a few days and did some sight seeing in an area near Chiang Mai. It was a fun time and we enjoyed seeing some places we had not been to yet. When we returned my dear husband gave me this beautiful bouquet of roses.

This last picture is a bit strange..... we were driving up the mountain and near the top the road just ended. I thought we were probably going to see something unusual as there was a lot of cow dung on the highway along the last several miles ...I guess this road is now just a cow trail. It was a beautiful drive this far anyway. Larry turned the car around and we ate a snack and drove back down the mountain.

I am always taking pictures of flowers I see and often don't ever get them posted. So today you are in for a lot of flowers.

Our mailman delivers the mail on a motorbike.

We received this box the other day and he kindly agreed to let me take his picture.

This and That....

This is an unusual guest house we came across one day. I thought our grandkids would sure have fun staying in this treehouse.

The bridge connects to another treehouse so there would be plenty of room:) for everyone.

In the same area we actually saw these horses in a pasture.

Having some fun soaking our feet in the hot springs.

Teaching english to a kindegarten class at a rural school.

Branches hanging low

The branches on our mango trees are hanging very low with the weight of these mangos.

Most of this past month we have eaten mango for breakfast ...lunch....and dinner. Well, maybe not every day but we have had an abundance of them that is for sure.

They are delicious!

Look what was in our yard today....

We had a man come and mow and weed trim our yard today

and this is what he found

curled around one of my potted plants.

By the way the snake is dead here...

Our neighbor said the Thai's call them "tailburn snakes".

I sure hope I do not see anymore of these snakes in my yard.

They are small but their bite is nasty and would cause swelling and damage to the skin we were told.

Can you believe this was us at a snake show recently?

I was not very impressed with watching the snake handlers at all!!!

We were sitting just three feet away from the area they have them in...not fun .
